Project 365 – Day 266
Met up with Mayu and Joyce this afternoon at a lovely cafe by the river. It was beautiful there but so so hot that we couldn’t stay outside for very long. We ended up going back into the cafe (that had aircon) so we were more comfortable. Great time!

Out for lunch and shopping the Joyce today. There was an organ player in one of the shopping arcades which was unusual. He was playing some pop songs as well!

Project 365 – Day 246
We were watching the Aoba Festival which is usually in May but was postponed this year. We were watching people doing The Sparrow Dance.
Nicked from wikipedia: The Sparrow dance, called Suzume Odori (ιθΈγ), is a dance based upon the fluttering movements of the Eurasian tree sparrow[. It was first performed, improvised, by stonemasons who were constructing Sendai Castle for the daimyo Date Masamune. The emblem of the Date clan incorporates two tree sparrows. The Sparrow dance is now performed yearly in Sendai, Miyagi prefecture at the Aoba festival in mid-May.
Project 365 – Day 244
First day off after working 9 days straight so I stayed in my PJs all day relaxing and reading on my kindle.
Project 365 – Day 231
Today I met up with my friend Sophie for some cake, chat and shopping. One of the clothes shops gave us these masks to put over our heads when trying on the clothes. Apparently it’s to stop make-up going on the clothes. I think it makes me look like a bank robber.

Project 365 – Day 224
I met up with the girls today and we had an Indian curry buffet lunch before heading back to mine for popcorn and another of my new Japanese DVDs. They had all seen this movie before and really love it. Some of my other friends also though it was great…to be honest I didn’t really care for it. For one thing it was about a tsunami (not a great topic currently) and the character of ‘Ponyo’, that everyone else finds really cute, I find bizzare and freaky (especially when she morphs between fish and human). Not a fan, sorry!
