Project 365 – Day 331

Mum and Hannah have left for Kyoto and I’m back at work (booo!). Only a three day work week as I’m taking some annual leave to meet them in Tokyo on Thursday. Comforting myself with our fun photo booth pictures.

Hannah and I. Mum, Hannah and I took a set as well but I cut them up to share before I thought to take a picture.

Project 365 – Day 293

Smiley face firework

Today was a fireworks display celebrating the start of the Sendai Tanabata Festival. Japan has such fun fireworks! (there were hearts as well!)

Project 365 – Day 290

Cute! Her name is Sawa.

One of the ladies who works in the office came into school today from maternity leave to show off her baby (1 and a half months old). She was very sweet.

Purikura (photo booth) fun!

Fun night out with the girls. We had a leaving dinner for the ALTs that are going home in a few weeks. Then we hit up the arcade to do some photo booths, then ice cream and 5 hours of karaoke! Perfect way to start the weekend.

Project 365 – Day 262

Sendai's mascot

Coming out of Japanese Night Class tonight and I saw this cute guy.

Project 365 – Day 257

Kokeshi doll (with Hello Kitty collection in the background)

The other day Joyce and I passed some stalls where artists and farmers were selling their wares. I bought this Kokeshi doll which is traditionally made in Miyagi prefecture (Sendai is in Miyagi). For more information you can see this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kokeshi

Also in the background you can see my collection of Hello Kitty charms. They make charms which represent different regions, cities and festivals in Japan and I have been collecting those which represent somewhere I have been/some festival I have seen.
